A Word from Joel Osteen.
Did you know that getting yourself in better physical condition can actually make it easier for you to mover closer to God? It's true! When you're at your peak physical condition, you are more prepared to experience God in a very personal way. God promises that He will draw close to you when you draw closer to Him - which leads us to ask the question: How can we draw closer to God? You can accomplish this by doing your part to communicate to God and giving your heart to Him. This can be as simple as reading your Bible, praying or even choosing to live a healthy lifestyle. The closer you become to God, the more you will experience His love and blessings.
A Prayer for Today
God, thank You for drawing close to me even when I don't draw close to you. Give me the strength to serve You and walk closer to You this day. In Jesus' Name. Amen

I will never forget completing my Body for LIFE challenge in 2002. After I mailed the packet to EAS I remember walking back to work jumping up and down yelling "I DID IT".
What was even more amazing to me was the fact that I started craving to be more spiritually fit. I wanted to get my spirit as healthy as my physical body...which in turn gave me this huge desire to help others. My eyes were clear and my heart was open to help anyone that wanted it.
I feel closer to God than ever before in my life. I now use my exercise knowledge to help others achieve their goals, and every time I give of myself, I know I have found my true passion in life.

Your posts have been really great. They ispire me to be a better person and this last one reminds me how far I have come as a person. There was a time in my life that I went to concerts at this arena and saw Ozzy, Uriah Heep,Ted Nugent, etc and at times probably thought I was meeting a higher power. Now years later, Joel Osteen is the preacher in the same arena that has become a church where people go to be with their higher power. Wow.
I believe you indeed have found your passion in life! :-) Thanks for everything you have done for me!

I have to admit I almost decided to stop working out when you wrote about getting closer to god. I've been told by my doctor that I might meet him sooner than later if I keep carrying this belly.
You are an overall champion. You express it in so many ways, not just in the BFL arena but in your family life and how you approach adversity.
You were put here to inspire so many both physically and spiritually.
