Time for a change...

well after nine years ..I'm finally going back to work full time. I'm excited and nervous..but I know it is for the best. I ended up getting an awesome job with great pay and benefits. My kids are actually excited for me.

One of the coolest benefits is that they will pay half of my gym membership. SO I will be joining a gym for the 1st time. That in itself is going to be intersting.

I have this week to get all my ducks in a row. I'll try to keep ya all updated as much as I can.

I hope everyone is doing AWESOME!

Keep Eating Clean, Training Hard and DREAMIN BIG!

A real christian-poem

Could have not been better written!!!!

Christians - By Maya Angelou

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!

***UPDATE***

Mom just called.....Christa is out and the doc said it went VERY well. THANK YOU JESUS!!

They cleaned it all up and put the flap over the opening. Now for the recovery..they said about 5-6 weeks.

THANK YOU so much for all your phones calls, cards, love and support.

You are ALL the BEST!!!

A New Beginning....

Today is Christa's surgery date. She went in at 9:00 am. I can only believe that this surgery is going to be a fresh new start for her. She is going to be healthy and full of life.

Christa survived a terrible car accident her senior year in high school. She is strong mentally and I know she is going to get through this with flying colors.

If she comes to your mind today will you please say an extra prayer for her.

PS: she mentioned taking a road trip so she can meet all my wonderful fitness friends. That would be an awesome trip!

Spiritual and Physical Fitness.

A Word from Joel Osteen.

Did you know that getting yourself in better physical condition can actually make it easier for you to mover closer to God? It's true! When you're at your peak physical condition, you are more prepared to experience God in a very personal way. God promises that He will draw close to you when you draw closer to Him - which leads us to ask the question: How can we draw closer to God? You can accomplish this by doing your part to communicate to God and giving your heart to Him. This can be as simple as reading your Bible, praying or even choosing to live a healthy lifestyle. The closer you become to God, the more you will experience His love and blessings.

A Prayer for Today

God, thank You for drawing close to me even when I don't draw close to you. Give
me the strength to serve You and walk closer to You this day. In Jesus' Name. Amen

Thanks so much for sending this to me Elizabeth...it brought back a memory.

I will never forget completing my Body for LIFE challenge in 2002. After I mailed the packet to EAS I remember walking back to work jumping up and down yelling "I DID IT".

What was even more amazing to me was the fact that I started craving to be more spiritually fit. I wanted to get my spirit as healthy as my physical body...which in turn gave me this huge desire to help others. My eyes were clear and my heart was open to help anyone that wanted it.

I feel closer to God than ever before in my life. I now use my exercise knowledge to help others achieve their goals, and every time I give of myself, I know I have found my true passion in life.

"Can you imagine living one complete day without thinking about yourself? Nothing offending you, nothing disturbing you, nothing causing you to be angry? Would you then be able to help others? ~Dr. Wayne Dyer

NUTRITION!

This piece of the fitness puzzle has been weighing heavy on my mind. I often wonder how many people truly understand how important nutrition is when it comes to sculpting your body. The way I see it is ..if you don't have your nutrition spot on, you are wasting your time going to the gym. Yes, weight training and cardio are important, but they are only going to work if we feed our body the right fuel. Visualize that poor body working hard, but never receiving the fuel it needs to grow and sculpt.

The right supplements are important before and after we workout.

The KEY factor to putting on lean muscle mass is protein. We all know what types....chicken, fish, eggs, lean red meat. (elk, buffalo and moose are my favorites)

For carbs....sweet potatoes, oatmeal, lentils, steamed brown rice. I like to have them early in the morning and then taper off to greens later in the day.

You all know the drill....I'm just speaking outloud right now. BUT..if you are not seeing the results you would like..maybe you should take an honest look at what you are eating. Are you journaling every morsal that goes in your mouth?? Are you drinking your water?? Are you choosing a good tea over coffee and diet sodas??

I know when I am honest with myself I start seeing results. It's amazing how quick my body will change when I'm feeding my temple the proper fuel. I am even changing my way of thinking when it comes to free day or a free meal. I can ALWAYS make better bad choices. The Eating for LIFE cookbook is filled with wonderful recipes.

Keep going STRONG everyone.

Going STRONG!

Today is a new day and a beautiful one at that.

Cardio complete and meals are prepared. I'm eating S Q U E A K Y clean and will not get sidetracked. Maria and I talked to today....we are still going to compete...we are not going to stress about an actual date. She is working hard with her school program and and I am focused on Sylvan and my sisters upcoming surgery. Christa is having her surgery July 25th. She has been such a trooper through this and I know she still has a long road to recovery, but if anyone can get through she can. She is an AMAZING inspiration to me.

Weight training tonight. I am so excited and just LOVE lifting. :)

BuffMother was in Oxygen this month. SO COOL!

My friend Elizabeth is kicking some serious bootay and truly is an inspiration to me.

There is so much inspiration around me..it really keeps me focused and moving in the right direction.

Tom, Katie, Terry and Faith are doing AWESOME!!!

Enough rambling for now. I'll update later.

hugs to all of you.

Back to reality.....Darn it!

So I have been MIA for a week now thanks to my darling husband. For my birthday he took me away from the home and we spent alot of hours on the beach. It was so nice to sit and watch the kids play while we visited. Talk about RELAXING!

Now back to reality. Housework, Sylvan, Cooking...cleaning, cleaning...did I mention cleaning? UGH..I LOVE being a mom/housewife. :)

When I think about my hubby 1 mile underground..I am thankful. He is such a hardworker and really takes care of us.

Training and eating are going AWESOME! I am feeling good and getting excited for future functions.

I know, I know, I know that if my eating is not on track then why waste time in the gym. Fuel to our body is SO critical.

Anyway...just a quick update. I made it to 37 and I'm feeling GREAT!

When I turn 40 you can bet your bootay I'll be looking good for my hubby.

EAT CLEAN, Train Hard and DREAM BIG!!!

PS: THANKS to all my friends who sent me birthday wishes and cards. I have them all over my house and I LOVE them. YOU ARE ALL THE BEST!!!!

Day 2 of my NO CHEATS challenge!

I am on a roll baby. :)

I have my head on straight and temptation will not get the best of me. I can have the junk food...but I don't want it. I want to keep my Temple as clean as possible and that is exactly what I'm going to do.

I came across some awesome protein, but it isn't sold in the good ole USA. BUMMER!

I hope everyone else is doing awesome.
